The third part in the series, this particular sermon draws on the admonition of Ecclesiastes 3 which says “God requires the past.” So we look into the past and we see God has consistently worked in the hearts of His people in both the Old and New Covenant eras, to use His Holy Law to hone and frame the image of God in man.  Using numerous examples we are shown historically the Word of God has consistently produced an excellent spirit in fallen sinners inculcating in them a powerful testimony, making them a “spiritual aristocracy” among men.

Indeed, God confronted Job with his sins and his cry that God had been unjust to him. God humbles him and makes him to know no injustice has been served upon him because of his sufferings. Rather, God has used the plight of Job to instruct a much greater and wider audience of people throughout the entire world down to this day.

God used His people in the Old Testament and the Diaspora to raise up the standards of Righteousness throughout the known world despite their own lack of resources and wealth.

In this third part we learn that God has always called His people to a much higher responsibility and stewardship in this life…far beyond simply “getting to heaven.”

Finally, we pursue the Biblical theme again of “Repentance-Restitution-Restoration” designed by God to first humble us, and then raise up a miraculous Testimony in His people in the day of their trial, as today.
