Dr. Wayne Sedlak goes through a number of books in his library. Each one, arranged by different eras. represents something in history that took place… Something that one institution brought about in the earth. That institution? The Church of Jesus Christ. The New Testament’s emphasis on the mystery of the Church tells us that it has great depth, not possible for sight to see. The powers of this world, now under Satan, will fall under the power of the Church. Do you hear this victorious message anywhere? Are your pastors giving a good report of the land or have the giants overwhelmed?
The church is deemed to be nonessential because people cannot see her glory. The Church in America is lacking in understanding to the point people are willing to relinquish her on a Sunday morning, and to exchange the real purpose of the church for fellowship, outings, youth groups… anything and everything. But the real authority of preaching, worship, equipping of God’s people… and the body of Christ united before the Lord.
In these books we see a a pregnant “woman” -the Church of Christ -he wife of a “Divine Husband”-Jesus Christ, and she bears children in different eras, each in which she is pregnant with a new world order, a phrase which Satan has taken and invents for himself so we become disgusted with the term and we turn away from the very thing we are supposed to be.
We begin with “The History of the Christian Church” by renowned historian, Philip Schaff (1819-1893) we find a book dedicated to describing a world not seen by the apostles. The early church brought about a whole new way of life in the ancient world.
Lecky’s “History of European Morals” was dedicated to the change in morality. The church made the change. The “woman”, called the Church of Christ pregnant with another child conceived a whole new world after the Early Church. But that world went into darkness…rejecting the Law of the Lord.
So as Psalm 107 states… they go down into the pit of unbelief…out of which will come Reformation. The book of Revelation tells us the Bride got pregnant again and brought forth many children bringing about new ways of life in historical era after historical era.
