Preface to the E-book
For many years I have been continually beset with letters from ardent students anxious for definite knowledge on numerous knotty points in the treatment of the violin and violin lessons. Their queries for violin lessons are frequent and varied, some quite inexplicable, so I doubt whether this book will cover all demands possible for violin lessons, but I trust that it will assist those who are not in a position to obtain the help of an experienced teacher. My aim has been to try and throw more light not only on the ordinary procedure of the player and teacher, but more especially as regards the minor details and unconsidered trifles involved in basic violin lessons.
